Evergreen Games Presents
Spyre
A competitive 3D building game of tile drafting, structure placement, and tactical positioning.
Winner of the Panda Game Manufacturing25 in 25 Contest
How to Play
Draft Tiles
Each round, players draft tiles and select a roof piece to build their structure for that turn.
Build Your Structure
Use four of your drafted tiles plus a roof to construct a structure on the shared grid.
Impact Your Opponents
Every placement matters — structures with line-of-sight to yours force opponents to adjust their personal board tracks.
Score Points
Points come from two sources: track advancements throughout the game, and visible structures remaining at the end.
The game unfolds over seven rounds. The player who best manages their building strategy — and their rivals' — wins.
Early prototype with the original Kowloon Walled City theme
Origin Story
Spyre began in 2017 as a game inspired by the Kowloon Walled City — a densely populated 6.5-acre enclave in Hong Kong that housed over 35,000 residents at its peak. Ed and Adam were captivated by the idea of a vertically built, impossibly dense city.
That early design introduced the tile-placement mechanic where tiles could face multiple players simultaneously — a core element that survived the game's journey to its final form.
Over the years the theme evolved, but the heart of the game — meaningful spatial interaction between players — remained unchanged. In August 2025, Spyre was submitted to the Panda 25 in 25 Contest, and in November 2025, it won.
